Ingredients
- 1 lb. of ground beef
- 9 dry uncooked lasagna noodles
- 4 cups of tomato-basil pasta sauce
- 2½ cups of mozzarella cheese
- 15 ounces of grated ricotta cheese
- 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup of chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons of dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon of chopped oregano
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- ¼ cup of hot water
Directions
Mix together the ricotta cheese and the Parmesan cheese in a bowl and set aside.
Put the ground beef in a skillet along with the chopped onion and cook over medium heat. Stir the beef in the skillet so that it crumbles. Stir in the garlic, parsley, and the oregano. Continue cooking until the meat is thoroughly cooked and there is no pink meat in the skillet. Mix in the tomato-basil pasta sauce and the sea salt.
Lightly grease a 11 x 7 inch baking dish. Pour one third of the meat sauce into it. Place three noodles over the sauce, but not over each other. Spread some mozzarella cheese over the noodles. Then, spread some of the Parmesan-ricotta cheese mixture over the mozzarella cheese. Pour another third of the meat sauce over the cheese. Lay three noodles over the sauce as before. Spread mozzarella cheese over the noodles. Spread the Parmesan-ricotta cheese mixture over the mozzarella cheese. Layer with the remaining three noodles. Pour the remaining third of the meat sauce over the cheese. Top with the remaining amounts of mozzarella cheese and Parmesan-ricotta cheese.
Slowly pour the hot water around the inside edge of the dish. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes in the oven at 375 ºF (191 ºC). Uncover the dish and bake another 10 minutes. After baking, let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.
